Masters' CouncilThe UTA Masters' Council is made up of a unique blend of Master instructors who have dedicated their lives to furthering the education of martial arts specifically TaeKwon-Do and Karate within the United States and abroad. The Masters' Council is dedicated to upholding martital arts principles and promoting authentic certification within the guidelines set forth by the United TaeKwon-Do Alliance. The Masters' Council is responsible for recognizing new Master Instructors board. The Masters' Council is responsible for recognizing new Master Instructors to the Masters Council as set forth by the United TaeKwon-Do Alliance bylaws on certification and rank promotions. The UTA Masters' Council PledgeI do solemnly swear that I will support and pledge to live by the code of the Masters' Council of the United TaeKwon-Do Alliance; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose or evasion and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of master while sitting on the UTA Masters' Council for which I am about to enter, so help me God.Present Masters' Council Members include:
The following boards and committees are made up from Masters' Council members: National Curriculum BoardThis board is responsible for directing and overseeing the UTA national minimum standards curriculum. Senior Master Wadley is Chairman of this Board. This board of masters and senior masters select and set the standards for the UTA certified schools. Both the National Instructor Certification Committee and the National Rank Certification Committee serve under the guidance of this board. National Instructor Certification CommitteeThe Regional Directors are responsible for scheduling and registering all Black Belt instructors for their yearly continuing education certification. The chairman of this committee will work with all Regional Directors of Instructor Certification. All questions about instructor programs and the certification of instructor programs shall be heard from this committee. The chairman of this committee has not been appointed by the Executive Board at this time. National Rank Certification CommitteeNational Level: All members of the Masters' Council serve as the National Rank Certification Committee. All Black Belts testing or confirming for 4th degree or higher will send their application to Sr. Master Troy Burleson, UTA National Rank Certification Director. This application must be sent in 30 days prior to the scheduled testing date. All applications will be checked for completeness and for accuracy. Sr. Master Burleson will respond to the applicant with details for their testing. Regional Level: The Regional Directors are responsible for scheduling and registering all Black Belts from first through third degree who will test or confirm their rank. The chairman will work with all Regional Directors of Rank Certification, who make up the certification committee. This is a committee of the National Certification Board. The chairman of this committee is Senior Master Troy Burleson.
